PEACE AND JUSTICE NETWORK

   The Peace and Justice Network has and continues to be an active Unit of the Province V Synod Body.  The Province now meets every two years instead of an annual spring synod meeting.  In off years conference calls are planned to ensure our mission and active participation is supported.
   Today our Province has eleven (11) program department units, they are:

   The Peace and Justice Network in the past has held conferences which responded to areas of Justice within our Region.  As part of our network mission, we continue to support local events in each diocese and a Peace and Justice presence at    Annual Diocesan Convention.  Throughout our Province leaders are elected, and or appointed by the diocesan bishop and in some cases a paid diocesan or parish position.

   Jubilee ministry continues to hold a high level of visibility in some dioceses, it is through these centers of action for justice the mandate of Peace and Justice is carried out.  The Peace and Justice Network continues to encourage a response to the Washington Office Public Policy Alerts and hope Episcopalians throughout the province will join this call to action of our church, enrollment is free.


The Peace and Justice Network focuses on many topics including:

Hunger                                     Living Wage
Economic Justice                      HIV/AIDS
Immigration                              Anti – Racism Training

 

What we do?
 Ø      Assist with planning local gatherings and conferences
Ø      Promote a Peace and Justice presence at Diocesan Conventions
Ø      Build awareness within Diocesan structures i.e. budget line item
Ø      Provide resources/ materials to support the local networks
